Yep, it's that time of year again, Affordable Art Fair time, and I'm not even going to go into how soon it seems to have come round! I went to the private view last night, and here are my favourites...

Art Attack
I know I say this every time... but I can't believe another Affordable Art Fair has been and gone, six months always flies by so fast! I visited with my sister last week, and we both agreed that it felt a bit fresher than it had done the past few times, and I found a few artists whose work I hadn't come across before and that I really like. In no particular order:

AAF
I was at the late view of the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea last night, and had been planning just to wander around and enjoy it without taking any notes about which artists I liked... until I saw some work I liked and before I knew it out came my phone and notes were taken! I've been working on a new series of pictures, using black painted outlines and bright, slightly offset colours. They might be destined for cards or prints... not sure yet, but here's one of them, a Dala horse:

Pick Up Line
Last week I went to Pick Me Up at Somerset House. I'd been a few years ago and wasn't overwhelmed by it, but someone at work strongly recommended it and I was so glad I gave it another chance. It was really inspiring, lots of designers and illustrators I hadn't come across before, and a really buzzy atmosphere. Here are some of my faves:

Post Secret
Earlier this week I popped along to the RCA Secret exhibition - where the Royal College of Art ask lots of students and artists (some very famous) to make a piece of work on a postcard, and they're all sold for £45, and you only find out once you've bought one who created it. I think it's a great idea, and here are some of my favourites out of a whopping 2,700 on display):

London Art Fair
A couple of weeks ago the London Art Fair was on. I'd never been before, but went along and really liked it. Usually I go to the Affordable Art Fair, and some of the same galleries were exhibiting here, but there were also a lot of very unaffordable pictures that were good to see. There were a couple of paintings by one of my favourite artists - although embarrasingly I didn't know his name until now - William Scott:
My other faves were... Chris Kenny who does brilliant and funny things with pieces of found text:

Affordable Art Fair
I can't believe it's already time for my annual favourites from the Battersea Affordable Fair. I found some new (to me) artists to admire at this year's exhibition, including:
Gorgeous paintings by Paul Fry who was exhibiting with a couple of galleries, his work uses such subtle colours but with pops of brightness.
